The Amphitheatre is one of the geographical features of the Northern Drakensberg, South Africa, and is widely regarded as one of the most impressive cliff faces on earth. The cliff face of the Amphitheatre is roughly three times the size of the total combined area of all the cliff faces in Yosemite's famous El Capitan, and more than 10 times the size of El Capitan's most famous (South Western) face. It is part of the Royal Natal National Park.
The Amphitheatre is over 5 kilometres in length and has precipitous cliffs rising approximately 4000 feet along its entire length.
This is the Cappella di Vitaleta, which graces many postcards, calendars, and even fridge magnets of Tuscany. The spot is on Highway #146 between San Quirico d'Orcia and Pienza.
Mentioned for the first time in a document dated 1590, was re-designed both externally and internally by the architect Giuseppe Partini in 1884, inspired by the sixteenth-century models.
Shot in San Quirico d'Orcia, Pienza, Tuscany, Italy.
Belvedere Farm. Belvedere means 'good view' and they sure have!
Shot in the Crete Senesi area of Tuscany, Italy. A very very beautiful and desert-like area.
A man guarding a huge door, probably the entrance to a hotel.
A woman passing an empty shop window on a sunny late afternoon in Florence.
This landscape was shot in Voorst near Zutphen. I used a ND filter that gives a rather unrealistic touch to this picture.

A beautiful sunset captured in Zandvoort, the Netherlands in 2005.
An almost scary sunset in IJmuiden, The Netherlands.
IJmuiden is a city in the Dutch province of North Holland, the main town of the municipality of Velsen. It lies about 17 km (10.3 mi) north of Haarlem. In the Roman era, this Velsen district was already inhabited, and archeological finds indicate there was a North Sea port of some regional importance built here. The town suffered heavy damage and demolition during World War II, because of its maritime importance.
The IJmuiden name literally means IJmouth of the IJ which is a hint to the importance the town has for the Amsterdam harbor.

Early morning light barely touching the snowy grounds of Elswout estate near Haarlem, The Netherlands.
This truly was a beautiful day to go out shooting. As you can tell I woke up very early that day. I spend the whole day taking pictures and freezing my fingers off.
