“A Tree is not a Tree... ”
Wim van der MeijI came to this image after reading a line of the Icelandic artist Sigurdur Gudmundsson: "A tree in not a tree but the dream of the root".
The tree I saw in the dunes south of Haarlem near the village of Vogelenzang; the sandy soil was blown away by the wind leaving bare the roots of this beech tree.
