Awol Art Alex is een kunstenaar, regisseur, grafisch ontwerper en reiziger uit Montreal die schildert in Canada en aan de Franse Rivièra. Ze creëert moderne, gedurfde en kleurrijke mixed media-kunst geïnspireerd door reizen over de hele wereld, een reeks hedendaagse wandkunst geïnspireerd door prachtige bestemmingen. Her artwork blends fine art techniques with bold design, ranging from colourful landscape paintings, graphic collages, contemporary black and white urban city art, skyline drawings and illustrations, minimalist wall art and funny yoga art, posters and graphic prints. Awol gets creative with oil painting, acrylic painting on canvas, watercolours, pastels, pencil, pen and ink on paper, and geometric graphic shape collages before digitally scanning the art. Her artistic influences range from Matisse, Cezanne, Picasso and Van Gogh, to the simplicity of Swiss Graphic Design and Scandinavian minimalism.
