Black Forest op canvas, dibond en poster door Gisela Scheffbuch

The Black Forest is Germany’s largest low mountain range and one of its most famous holiday regions. Stretching from Pforzheim in the north to the Swiss border in the south, it impresses with its diverse landscapes. The Northern Black Forest is characterized by dense, dark forests, deep valleys, and traditional spa towns such as Baden-Baden. Scenic roads like the Black Forest High Road offer access to the scenery. In the Central Black Forest, forests alternate with lush meadows and open valleys. Typical features are picturesque villages with half-timbered houses and the famous cuckoo clocks, for example in Triberg or Gutach. The Southern Black Forest provides almost alpine flair with the Feldberg (1,493 m), crystal-clear mountain lakes, and wide high plateaus. It is ideal for winter sports as well as for extensive hikes and cycling tours.
