What I enjoy about photography is that it focuses the eye and helps you see things in nature, cities, countries and people you would not otherwise see. Lighting, color combinations and composition are of course what make a picture stand out from the rest and that is where the creative part of photography for me comes in. I currently live in Rotterdam which for me is a fascinating city because of the combination of industry, the harbor, modern architecture (including high rise buildings) and the Maas River. In my portfolio for Werk aan de Muur I have included a few pictures of Rotterdam which are quite unique because of the lighting and color combinations and specific compositions allowed by the location where I take my pictures and of course my love for the city. I have also included pictures of the Tulips in the Keukenhof in the Netherlands which for me is also uniquely Dutch and special because of the color combinations and the shapes of the flowers.
